  MISSION STATEMENT

Unity House is a comprehensive and multifaceted residential program which provides total youth development services to both adolescent boys and girls ranging in ages from 13 to 17 who are currently in the foster care system. Moreover, these individuals have been identified as needing long-term residential care. Services are geared towards youth who have also been identified as being at “high-risk” for involvement in dangerous behaviors such as delinquency, truancy and teen pregnancy (if applicable). Program services are aimed at increasing preventive factors such as academic achievement, involvement in positive activities during non-school hours, strengthen family unity when appropriate, increasing self-esteem and improving decision-making skills. Additionally, we also encourage for the young adults to approach difficult situations by making the best possible decisions for oneself is one of the greatest factors in long-term resistance to involvement in “risky behaviors” for adolescents
